Open archive.ph version for paywalled sites
Sites like nytimes & business insider can be crippled on mobile due to aggressive paywalling.
Allow sites to be opened via mirrors such as archive.ph (archive.today) to their newest or oldest save
https://archive.ph/newest/xxxxxxxx
https://archive.ph/oldest/xxxxxxxx
Eg
https://reddit.com/r/technews/comments/17nnrb6/amazons_1_billion_cloud_deal_with_microsoft/
Links to:
https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-m365-cloud-deal-with-microsoft-new-details-2023-11?r=US&IR=T
Which is locked down when browsing on iOS (scroll and you will see a full screen login/subscription nag)
Removing the query parameters and adding to the archive.ph url
https://archive.ph/newest/https://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-m365-cloud-deal-with-microsoft-new-details-2023-11
We can find a working readable story.
Another example for a nytimes link:
https://archive.ph/newest/https://www.nytimes.com/article/best-netflix-movies.html
Perhaps add this as a sub-option to ‘Open in browser’ so a user can easily find an alternative if the Reddit link has a paywall on the target site.
